Trump: We are now beating the Taliban like never before
US President Donald Trump says US forces are now beating the Taliban in Afghanistan with "unprecedented force" after negotiations between the US administration and the group collapsed after an attack in Kabul killed 12 people, including a US soldier.
Trump wrote on his Twitter page on Saturday: "The Taliban have never been hit as they are at the moment. Killing 12 people, including an American soldier, is a big deal, and it was not a good idea. There are much better ways to start a negotiation. They made a big mistake, they have no idea how to remedy it. "
Trump's comments came a week after he announced the cancellation of months of peace talks with the Afghan Taliban in response to an attack by the group in Kabul that killed 12 people, including a US soldier.
